SUIT UP POKER LEAGUE
I started playing poker in 2007 and quickly developed a love for the game. I played in home cash games and in local free bar poker leagues. I learned early on that poker takes five minutes to learn, but a lifetime to master. After several years I started playing in casinos and even played in the World Series of Poker. This is where I really got excited about poker and wanted other players to experience what I had. The local leagues in my area offered very little reward to the players, so I decided to start my own league to reward players and give them huge opportunities.
Using State and local law as a guideline, Suit Up Poker League was formed in 2013. Fun and exciting tournaments were created at local restaurants, bars and pubs to highlight the competition and entertainment values of tournament poker without the financial risk.
Suit Up Poker League LLC is a FREE, NO RISK, NO MONEY poker league; however players are encouraged to patronize the hosting venues. Without the venues, there would be no free poker. Gambling is illegal and strictly prohibited. Tournaments are held with casino quality equipment (tables, chips and cards) and managed by a Tournament Director trained in the rules provided by SUPL and the TDA (Tournament Directors Association). Our tournaments are structured using casino format and blind structures to prepare players to play in major tournaments in casinos. Win nightly prizes and earn points to qualify for our season tournaments where you can win big cash and prizes. Our seasons are three months (March-May, June-August, September-November and December-February).
Our Grand Opening took place at our very first venue, Colonial Italian Restaurant & Pizza in September 2013 with 47 players in attendance.
In 2014 Suit Up Poker League became an affiliate of the Bar Poker Open. We are the only league in this area with the affiliation. As a result, players now have more value for participating in bar poker. The Bar Poker Open is the largest bar poker championship in North America. Players have the opportunity to win entry in a $100,000 Guaranteed Championship in Atlantic City and a $200,000 Guaranteed Championship in Las Vegas each year in just two simple steps.
We currently have poker tournaments several nights per week with 400-500 players joining us at the tables each season. We are expanding to other cities, towns and states. We award over $30,000 annually in cash and prizes and it is 100% FREE to play.
I am one of the very few woman owned poker leagues, but that does not make me uncomfortable. My day job is a Financial Controller and I am used to being the only woman in the boardroom.
My motto is “BIGGER & BETTER” and my mission is to become the country’s #1 most rewarding free poker league. I strive to provide players a FUN night of poker that is rewarding with bigger and better cash, prizes and opportunities than any other league in the area, but more importantly creating friendships that will last a lifetime.
